Idea Behind SSM

 

The need for participation of private sector in imparting technical education as to meet the requirement of skilled human resource in the country, the technical education is considered as the back bone of the economy of a country. India needs to develop a technical education system which is of high quality, affordable flexible internationally compatible and relevant to the industry, economy and society as whole. Private sector can play a great role in establishing the technical education institutions for providing quality education. The growth and development of formal technical education in India has come as a long way since its inception in the 19th century under British rule. It expanded multifold after Indian attained independence and it is still progressing in order to contribute as a private sector to harness the full demographic dividend the idea of establishing SSM was conceptualized in the year 1988.
